I’m just curious why you didn’t credit the person who came up with this method?

Great question. I credited Michele McDonald in the first article I wrote about RAIN meditation on my website. But in the interest of brevity and time necessitated by a weekly newsletter, I trust readers to Google for more information. Appreciate your comment.

I think since people come upon your work at any given time, you can’t assume they have read previous work where you credit the appropriate person.

You mention Jill Bolte Taylor, I think it’s necessary to credit every person you are taking methods from, otherwise you’re implying it’s your own. I don’t know your work, but it’s off putting to not find the appropriate credit. Sharing this just so you don’t put yourself on that position, to lose interested readers, because it’s not a good practice.

Thanks for your patience while I facilitated a healing workshop. I would invite you to ask yourself, "Is this coming from my head or my heart?"

Thank you so much for this! I could find myself in this moment of “feeling unseen” because someone else did not react as “I had expected or hoped for”.

I love the RAIN approach. It could actually be my missing puzzle piece in these kind of situations since I started realising that simply “recognise” and “confront/phrase need” is not the way to go but I needed something that I can do by myself to nurture this hurt feeling.

Beautiful awareness, Fabienne. I love that you are already practicing and have the awareness of what’s working and what’s not and how RAIN can complement your existing practices. Appreciate you sharing this.

RAIN is powerful, Mo. If you haven’t already tried it, I think you would like it. It’s helped me through many painful emotions and experiences over the years. Thanks for your words.

Almost every hurt we experience in life can either be healed or greatly diminished by simply becoming present and conscious of the real cause.

You offer us a wonderful call to become present and a great tool to help us get there!

Thanks Ryan! I appreciate it‼️

Love this Ryan! What a great skill to develop. I too have experienced firsthand, the power of being present and conscious investigation to what’s really going on causing our emotions! Just think we could happen if we learn to apply this skill to the big “hurts” in society‼️

Omg, can you imagine? Well, I guess you can and already have. I often think how organizations like governments, corporations, and religions are like individuals and benefit (and suffer) in the same way that individuals do. May all organizations learn to live wakefully!

I'm glad you like the RAIN approach and am grateful for your feedback. Michele McDonald came up with the idea while giving a talk at a meditation retreat. It's excellent, isn't it?

Yes it is. Considering that people of any background can benefit from this, I really liked it. I looked up the website of Tara Brach and enjoyed her resources on RAIN, too. Thanks for sharing this.

Just yesterday, the same concepts crossed paths with me elsewhere. Great detail beyond the concepts & something easily portable to share with others. Excellent & thank you.
