I love the exercise you shared, Ryan. Yes, sense the aliveness that’s present right now. It's so easy to get caught up in the business the mind can create. Bringing yourself back to the present is always powerful.

And yet, when the momentum is significant enough, it's incredibly difficult to slow down. It takes time and repetition. Appreciate your comment, Wendy, and good to see you again!

As always, Ryan, you write my thoughts more succinctly.

Lately, I've been tuned into parts work. As I read, I wondered if it's not at the depth of parts where this message gets tough to hear. It seems there are parts of us that have a hard time hearing this message because they don't feel seen for all their hard work. What I know as a coach is that until someone feels seen, they're closed to new ways of perceiving. Possibility is a road they can't turn on.

Very interesting, Damon. I didn't know this, but it makes sense. It reminds me of one quote: "People don't care what you know until they know you care." And one idea from Carl Rogers: Having unconditional positive regard for his clients allowed them to change. I appreciate you sharing this and hope to remember it and take it to heart.

It's like that with parts, as I'm learning. Feeling seen and feeling accepted for what they are trying to do is everything to those parts. As people, which is a claim I won't try to break down right now, we know this feeling. I think that quote is getting to exactly this sentiment.

What's noteworthy about this is that we all kinda know this. Then we find ourselves in the listening seat and fail to embody it. It's just too tempting to reply, "You know what you need to do about that problem?"

We want to feel seen from one side, but from the other, we want to be the one who knows everything.

You capture and articulate this so eloquently and beautifully. I hope others will read this as well and learn from your words.

"You begin to trust life more, not because you’ve figured out how to control everything, but because you’ve let go of the need to." This is what I remind myself of regularly. Thank you for explaining it so well and the reminder! ✨

I'm glad you shared this, Nancy. Learning to trust life and let go of the reins is something we're all confronted with.

This was a great read, explained in a simple way that I could understand. I sort of got the idea before but now fully know about existence. Thank you so much Ryan for the clarity I have been looking for. Much appreciated my lovely 💞.

Thanks, Jimmy.

I don’t usually have regrets, but it did occur to me that I would have included quotes from the book if I had been aware at the time.

Appreciate you sharing your feedback.
